We’ve been ordering take out from here for the last 3 years. A few days ago we decided to eat at the restaurant. We were blown away even further. Food has always been fresh but it felt even better. Spicy agadashi tofu was one of the highlights. Their sushi is very tasty and generous portions. The staff is always so kind and efficient. We love it here and will continue to order!

Went to a pet shop in the little strip mall next to YANAKI and notice this cute little sushi shop and decided to try it - good decision as the place was nice, food good and service prompt and friendly. The best part of the menu is their bento boxes - I chose bento A and it was perfect! Great Karage (crispy yet juicy), colourful paradise roll (which is akin to California roll), yummy chicken teriyaki and 6 thick fresh sashimi slabs - and it was so much food, I was stuffed. My daughter ordered a spider and a California rolls which were quite large (although not the large tasteless kind from Rezzies who thinks quantity is all that matters!) and very tasty. My better half also ordered Bento A but had the beef teriyaki. And to cap it all off - complimentary appetizers- nice touch! Very pleasantly surprised by this little place we just chanced upon and will be back - especially if we want to visit the pet supply shop next door again.

Easily my favorite sushi place in the city. Their BC Roll is unlike other places I’ve been. Good fish to rice ratio, beautiful presentation, friendly staff, good prices. Highly recommended. ...

Cozy vibes, delicious food! A great little gem of a sushi spot with delicious food made well and presented well - prices on par with average shops but these guys bring something a little special with the service, food and great pricing. Also a free little appy treat which was awesome. Highly recommended!

Fantastic spot. They often provide you with little compliments of the chef and the food is also great. Best teriyaki in town? Maybe. Eggplant misoyaki is great too.

Came back early this evening and it’s still as good. This place really lives up to my standards for my regular Japanese cravings. Sashimi is fresh and better than any Japanese restaurants in the city that serves at this price range. It’s not frozen, tuna is nice and pinkish not pale. From karaage, chicken terriyaki, the rice itself which a lot of the places can’t get it perfectly, tempuras, rolls, they are just fantastic. You know what, this place can’t be beat when quality and price for this variety is made into consideration. Since it’s close to my place, this is now one of my to gos for comfort food. *********************************************** Knew this place that was recommended by a friend and looks like I just found my new favorite spot specially for my rolls and sashimi cravings that fits within my budget! This place has one of the best bento boxes I’ve had for only 20. Try the sashimi bento box B, the chicken terrayaki was tender juicy and crispy The ambiance is relaxed, and the food is super fresh with huge servings—seriously filling! Yanaki’s got that perfect vibe: not too formal or fancy, but still top-notch quality. Everything that was ordered were great. Best deal in town for delicious food that doesn’t break the bank! Will definitely be back.

With fresh ingredients and attentive service, it’s no wonder why both locals and visitors alike keep coming back.

One delightfully recurring theme in customer reviews is the freshness of the food. Jessica Villavicencio, a devoted patron for three years, recently took the plunge and dined in. She was thoroughly impressed, stating, “Food has always been fresh but it felt even better.” Among her highlights was the spicy agadashi tofu, a dish that showcases the kitchen’s finesse with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

For those who love variety, the bento boxes are a must-try. Joseph T. Tan stumbled upon Yanaki while visiting a pet store nearby and was pleasantly surprised. He raved about Bento A, which featured crispy yet juicy karage, a vibrant paradise roll reminiscent of the classic California roll, plus tender chicken teriyaki and generous slabs of fresh sashimi. The portion sizes here are commendable, leaving diners satisfied without compromising on quality.

Another standout is the BC Roll, frequently highlighted for its unique preparation and well-proportioned fish-to-rice ratio. As Ken Tremblett aptly put it, the presentation is stunning and the prices reasonable, making this establishment easily his favorite in the city. The aburi-torched sushi lovers will appreciate how perfectly executed the rolls are; as one reviewer noted, the salmon skin in the BC Roll is “as it should be,” creating a delightful bite.
